Strategic Plan 2026–2028
Our Strategic Plan 2026–2028 was launched on Rare Disease Day, 28 February 2026. It sets out an ambitious roadmap for the next three years and reaffirms our commitment to improving outcomes for everyone affected by sarcoma in Ireland.
The plan is built on the three pillars that have guided us since the beginning — education, advocacy and support — and on our organisational values of compassion, integrity, determination, innovation, collaboration and inclusivity.
Our Priorities for 2026–2028
- Continue to deliver a good quality counselling service for sarcoma patients across the island of Ireland.
- Expand the supports we provide to families impacted by sarcoma — both financial and psychosocial.
- Develop a corporate fundraising strategy to support key charity initiatives, including the provision of a nurse-led support line.
- Foster a deeper working relationship with the medical teams treating sarcoma patients across the country, to encourage earlier referral to our services — including teams in key locations outside Dublin.
- Work with CHI, Childhood Cancer Ireland and the Irish Sarcoma Group to ensure a smooth transition for patients moving from paediatric to adolescent and young adult services.
- Deepen awareness of sarcoma within the medical community to enable earlier diagnosis and referral to MDT-led care, targeting medical students and allied healthcare providers such as physiotherapists and osteopaths.
- Continue to raise awareness of sarcoma with the public through sustained and impactful social media campaigns.
- Deepen relationships with clinical and research experts in Ireland and internationally, so that Irish sarcoma patients have access to the most up-to-date treatment available for their subtype.
How We Are Organised to Deliver It
- The plan is delivered by a voluntary Board of Directors, a Management Committee, and six sub-committees: Advocacy & Education, Communications & PR, Finance, Fundraising, Risk & Administration, and Support. Progress is reviewed by the Board and reported each year in our Annual Report.
