Angiosarcoma can occur in various parts of the body, including the skin, soft tissues and internal organs.
It can develop in individuals of any age but is more common in adults. The exact cause is often unknown, although it has been associated with certain risk factors such as exposure to some chemicals (for example vinyl chloride), radiation therapy, chronic lymphoedema and certain inherited genetic conditions.
