What is Sarcoma?

Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that develops in the body’s bones or soft tissues, such as muscle, fat, nerves and blood vessels. Because sarcoma is uncommon, it’s important that diagnosis and treatment are managed by specialist healthcare teams with experience in treating the disease.

Your Next Steps

Everyone’s experience is different, but there are a few things that can help in the early days after diagnosis:

  • Ask questions and take notes during appointments.
  • Bring a family member or friend to important consultations if possible.
  • Learn about your diagnosis from trusted sources.
  • Accept help from those around you.
  • Remember that it’s okay to ask for emotional support as well as medical care.

We're Here for You

You don’t have to navigate sarcoma on your own. Whether you need someone to talk to, practical advice or information about our support services, we’re here to help.
